A Missouri Lottery player in Clay County was the sole winner of a $189,000 Show Me Cash jackpot in the Aug. 20 drawing.

His winning ticket, purchased at Price Chopper, 9717 N. Ash Ave. in Kansas City, matched all five numbers drawn, resulting in the $189,000 jackpot prize. The winning numbers that night were 8, 25, 33, 34 and 38.

“I checked my numbers five times!” he laughed.

Show Me Cash drawings are held daily at 8:59 p.m., with jackpots that start at $50,000 and grow until won. Tonight’s jackpot is estimated at $50,000.

In FY25, players in Clay County won more than $39.3 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $2.9 million in commissions and bonuses, and more than $17.2 million in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
