A Missouri farmer has plans to upgrade his vehicle after claiming a $50,000 Powerball prize from the Aug. 3 drawing. His winning ticket was purchased at Concordia Eagle Stop, 201 N. Main St., in Concordia.

"I was very happy that I won it. It will definitely take care of some bills,” the winner shared. “I’m looking to purchase a new pickup truck."

He also noted he wasn’t the only winner in the scenario, since all proceeds from Missouri Lottery ticket sales go to benefit public education.

“It goes towards a good cause, for schools, and I'm happy for that also,” he laughed.

The winning ticket matched four of the five white-ball numbers, as well as the Powerball number, in the Aug. 3 drawing. The winning numbers were 8, 30, 41, 48 and 54, and the Powerball number was 4.

In FY25, players in Lafayette County won more than $3.8 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $375,000 in commissions and bonuses, and more than $2.7 million in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
