A Missouri Lottery player uncovered the first $50,000 prize on a “Black Diamond” Scratchers ticket, which she purchased at Stateline Liquor, 20925 Highway 59, in Noel. This came shortly after the game’s release in late July.

The winner said the $10 ticket was already on her list to scratch.

“I usually try to get at least one of the new tickets when they come out,” she explained.

Little did she know she’d be the first player to discover one of the game’s five $50,000 prizes.

“Just sitting there scratching it, I realized (the win), and I just started crying. I couldn’t believe it!” she laughed. “There was just one big spot that matched one number for the $50,000.”

Players have won more than $3.4 million in prizes on “Black Diamond” since its release on July 27. More than $31.3 million in prizes have yet to be claimed on the ticket – including four additional $50,000 prizes and two $1 million top prizes.

In FY25, players in McDonald County won more than $4.5 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $370,000 in commissions and bonuses, and more than $3.6 million in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
