A Show Me Cash player in Clay County learned of his $237,000 jackpot win face-to-face with a store clerk. The winner had purchased the Quick Pick ticket from a vending machine at QuikTrip, 655 S. Highway 291 in Liberty, having never played Show Me Cash before.

“I came back the next day or whenever it was and scanned (the ticket),” he recounted.  “And I think it just said, ‘You’re a winner. Contact Missouri Lottery.’”  

He initially didn’t think much of the message as he headed home that night, setting a mental reminder to look deeper into the ticket later. But a second thought prompted him to go straight to a retailer’s front counter clerk the next day.

“The lady took the ticket, scanned it and said, ‘Did they tell you what you won?’ And I said, ‘No, I didn’t talk to anybody. I have no idea,’” he explained. “She said, ‘You won the whole thing.’ And I went, ‘Oh, holy cow!’”

The winner said he’d won Lottery prizes before, but nothing like a $237,000 jackpot. He plans to donate some of those winnings to charity.

The winning numbers for the July 20 Show Me Cash drawing were 18, 29, 30, 31 and 35. Tonight’s estimated jackpot is $148,000.

In FY25, Clay County players won more than $39.3 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $2.9 million in commissions and bonuses, and more than $17.2 million in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
