A Missouri Lottery player has claimed a $50,000 prize on a “500X Payout” Scratchers ticket he purchased at Karsch’s Village Market, 10724 Highway 21, in Hillsboro.

The winner and his wife were just leaving the parking lot as he uncovered the first three spots  – each containing a $5,000 prize. But his winnings didn’t end there.

“She doesn’t usually say much, but after the next one was $1,000 and then another $5,000, she said, ‘I’m going to pull over!’” he chuckled, remembering his wife’s reaction.

So far, players of the $50 game have won more than $34.4 million in prizes. Currently, there are two $5 million top prizes, three $1 million prizes and 45 additional $50,000 prizes still unclaimed.

During FY25, players in Jefferson County won more than $40.4 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $3.6 million in commissions and bonuses, and more than $19.1 million in Lottery proceeds went to educational programs in the county.
