A Missouri Lottery player was pleasantly surprised when he uncovered a $100,000 top prize on a “Money Money Money” Scratchers ticket he purchased at Price Chopper, 207 N.E. Englewood Road, in Kansas City.

“It was quite a fluke!” laughed the winner. “I was actually going to buy a different ticket, but someone said something to me and I hit the wrong button! But I’m glad it happened that way!”

He recalled scratching the ticket in the parking lot before heading home. After seeing some of his numbers had matched the winning numbers, he decided to wait until he got home to see exactly how much he had won.

“I waited to finish scratching it, and then the first one was $5,000, and it just keep going from there. I almost flipped out!” he shared. “I was out on the front porch and started whooping and yelling, and my wife came out to see what was wrong. I told her, ‘You ain’t gonna believe this!’”

So far, “Money Money Money” players have won more than $10.2 million in prizes since the $5 game was released in November. Over $8.8 million in prizes remain unclaimed, including two additional $100,000 top prizes and three second tier prizes of $20,000.

During FY25 players in Jackson County won more than $96.8 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $8.9 million in commissions and bonuses, and more than $31.6 million in Lottery proceeds went to educational programs in the county.
