$50,000 Powerball Prize Won in Oak Grove

A Missouri Lottery player won $50,000 when he matched four of the five white-ball numbers, along with the Powerball number in the April 4 drawing. The winning numbers that night were 3, 6, 13, 41, 65, and the Poweball number was 1.

After claiming his prize at the Lottery’s Kansas City regional office, he explained how a delayed dinner had a hand in the lucky purchase.

“My wife and I were at dinner,” he shared. “It was taking a little longer to get our food, so I went and got a Scratchers ticket while we waited.”

While purchasing the Scratchers ticket at O’Hare Liquor, 707 S. Broadway in Oak Grove, he also added a couple of Quick Pick Powerball tickets.

“I was pretty surprised when I saw I won $50,000,” he chuckled. “But if my ‘8’ had been a ‘6’ I would have won millions. Wouldn’t that be nice?”

Powerball is a multi-state Draw Game with drawings held every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. Saturday’s jackpot is estimated at $75 million.

During FY25 players in Jackson County won more than $96.8 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $8.9 million in commissions and bonuses, and more than $31.6 million in Lottery proceeds went to educational programs in the county.
