KC Lottery Player Scores Second Jackpot Win

Apr 13, 2026

A Missouri Lottery player in Kansas City was stunned when he discovered he’d won a $242,000 Show Me Cash prize in the March 26 drawing – since he’d also won a jackpot prize in 2024.

“The first time I won, I said I’d never win it again,” he recalled. “I continued to play but only when the jackpot got over $200,000.”

The Show Me Cash ticket he purchased at QuikTrip, 4380 N.W. 90th St. in Kansas City, matched all five numbers drawn March 26, resulting in a $242,000 prize. The winning numbers that night were 17, 20, 25, 30 and 39.

“I said, ‘You’ve got to be kidding me!’” he laughed. “I couldn’t believe I won the first time. I guess anything’s possible.”

Show Me Cash drawings are held daily at 8:59 p.m., with jackpots that start at $50,000 and grow until won. Tonight’s jackpot is estimated at $74,000.

In FY25, players in Platte County won more than $12.5 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $1.2 million in commissions and bonuses, and more than $8.4 million in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
