A Missouri Lottery player in Arnold realized he’d won a $100,000 top prize after uncovering the last symbol on his “Loteria” Scratchers ticket.

“I had one more symbol to scratch, and I needed the rooster on the very last line,” he recalled. “I thought, ‘No way it’s going to be the rooster.’”

The final symbol he uncovered was indeed the rooster. That lucky reveal matched the symbol needed to complete a line on his ticket to win $100,000.

“Oh, my gosh. I was floored!” he laughed.

The winning ticket, purchased at Jeffco BP, 3700 Jeffco Blvd. in Arnold, held the first of four $100,000 top prizes in the “Loteria” Scratchers game. To date, players have won more than $2.9 million in prizes since the game was released in February. Three additional $100,000 prizes remain unclaimed, along with 22 prizes of $10,000.

In FY25, Jefferson County players won more than $40.4 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $3.6 million in commissions and bonuses, and more than $19.1 in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
